Grades K–2
Use short texts, picture prompts, and guided discussion. Keep vocabulary concrete and revisit the same media literacy habits weekly.
3–5
Grades 3–5
Students can compare two sources and explain a reason for trusting one over another. Pair independent reading with structured group debriefs.
6–8
Grades 6–8
Introduce algorithmic feeds, social proof, and bias framing. Ask students to document evidence before sharing claims.
9–12
Grades 9–12
Expect primary-source comparison, policy context, and rhetorical analysis. Connect skills to college, career, and civic participation.
